The 2022 Kia Sportage offers two engine options. The lower trims come with a four-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine that produces 181 horsepower. The top trim has a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that produces 240 horsepower. In comparison, the 2023 Sportage will have a 187-horsepower, four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive will be a standard feature on the top trim levels for 2023.
For the 2022 Sportage, expect an aerodynamic profile with a rounded, tapered nose. The nose will feature stretched, teardrop-shaped headlights and a bowtie grille. For the 2023 Sportage, expect to see a taller nose with a waterfall edge. The grille will be more extensive and flanked by arrow-like headlights. The sides will have a smooth definition with black lower-body molding. In addition, the digital display screen is expansive and merges the driver's gauges with the central infotainment system.
Both models have a few features that make them stand out in their classes. These include rear and front parking sensors, a heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats. The 2023 Sportage introduces a few new features: a wireless internet connection, a surround-view camera, forward collision alert, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot camera, and other equipment.
